SMT Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Operations Excellence & Quality Management Associate. This role will support continuous improvement initiatives, assist in the development of quality management systems, and contribute to projects that enhance productivity, compliance, and product consistency across our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Assist in analyzing operational data to identify waste, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in cross-functional kaizen events and process mapping exercises.
  • Help document standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process changes.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities related to quality issues.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for operations and quality performance.
  • Support audits (internal and external) by preparing documentation and gathering required records.
  • Assist with quality inspections, data analysis, and non-conformance investigations.
  • Contribute to training efforts by developing visual aids, guides, and tracking training records.
  • Collaborate with teams in manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Quality Assurance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Internship or academic exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Quality Management Systems (QMS) is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of ISO 9001 or similar quality standards is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with data analysis tools is a bonus.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
