Job summary

The City of Savannah seeks a Parks Superintendent to lead the Neighborhood Parks Division, overseeing maintenance programs for neighborhood parks, lakes, and athletic fields to ensure high standards and community satisfaction.

The role directs staff, manages irrigation, develops pest and fertilizer plans, and maintains records and contracts to support safe, efficient operations. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Golf Course, Grounds, Landscape, or Sports Field Management with supervisory experience.
• Ability to plan, schedule, and train staff for park and field maintenance.
• Knowledge of irrigation, turf care, and pest control relevant to parks.

Responsibilities

• Supervises staff performance and directs daily task assignments.
• Oversees maintenance of neighborhood parks, lakes, and athletic fields.
• Manages irrigation systems across all parks and fields.
• Maintains records of labor, maintenance, and safety initiatives.
• Oversees contracts and vendor invoices for the division.
• Coordinates with residents and City personnel on service requests.
