Job summary

TTL is seeking entry-level Welding Inspectors and NDT Technicians for Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, AL. Starting pay is $18.00–$24.00/hour with training provided. You will perform VT of welds and NDT (UT, MT, PT) and assist with coating inspections to ensure compliance with codes and specs.

Welding experience or schooling is a plus but not required; TTL will train and pay for courses. This is a step into a great career with opportunities for growth within our team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred in welding, construction, physical sciences or math.
• Strong written and verbal communication; interact professionally with clients and team.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with related software.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual testing (VT) of structural welds to verify compliance with codes and specs.
• Conduct nondestructive testing (NDT) including UT, MT, PT.
• Perform coating inspections and testing per industry standards.
• Inspect structural steel and bolted connections for code compliance.
• Prepare detailed daily inspection reports and client documentation; operate with moderate supervision.
