Job summary

Farnsworth Group is seeking an Entry Level Municipal Engineer to join our team in Illinois. The role focuses on planning, design, and management of water, wastewater, and street projects for local and government agencies.

You will collaborate with clients and agencies to deliver quality civil engineering solutions. Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering degree from ABET-accredited programs, with 0–5 years of experience and FE/PE certification or progression.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
• 0–5 years of Civil Engineering experience.
• FE or PE certification, or expected to be obtained.
• Experience with IDOT, MFT and local agency projects.
• Experience with state/local authorities.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil3D.
• Ability to work both in the office and field for construction engineering and observation.
• Strong management, communication, and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage, support and build relationships with clients and agencies.
• Work on municipal projects for water, sewer and streets.
• Conduct field inspections, measurements or calculations.
• Perform condition assessments.
• Prepare construction, design documents and plans.
• Manage projects and programs from inception to completion.
