Job summary

Centra Health is seeking a Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist to perform high-quality MRI exams as part of the Radiology Patient Care Team. The role involves operating MRI scanners, ensuring patient safety, and producing diagnostic images to meet department standards.

The MR Technologist will screen patients, explain procedures, administer IV contrast within scope, and collaborate with staff, physicians, and the organization.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 2-year degree in Radiologic Technology.
• MUST be MR certified by ARRT (MR) within 2 years of hire; BLS within 6 months.
• State licensure may be required depending on site.
• Preferred 1 year MRI experience.

Responsibilities

• Produces quality MRI exams.
• Assesses image quality and ensures standards are met.
• Collaborates with staff, patients, physicians and the organization.
• Conducts patient screening for contraindications.
• Explains MRI procedures to patients and families.
• Injects IV contrast as scope allows.
• Inspects images for quality and operates MRI scanners.
• Positions patients and assists with immobilization as needed.
• Provides hearing protection and maintains clean imaging areas.
• Selects imaging techniques/coils and takes patient histories.
• Maintains confidentiality and delivers age-appropriate care.
• Other duties as assigned.
