Job summary

Applied Research Associates, Inc. seeks a Junior Modeling and Simulation Engineer/Scientist to support theory-driven modeling and simulation of complex systems for national security.

You will develop computational models, simulations, and analysis tools within a multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate has a BS or higher in CS/Engineering/Physics/Mathematics and a strong interest in software development; familiarity with writing robust software is desirable.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in CS, Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
• 0–2 years of relevant work experience.
• U.S. Citizenship required with the ability to obtain a clearance.
• Experience writing code and developing software.
• Strong interest in solving complex challenges.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with multidisciplinary science and engineering teams to develop innovative approaches in representing the structure and behavior of systems.
• Review literature and report findings to support collaborative solution development.
• Present candidate solutions to colleagues and adjust designs based on feedback.
• Contribute to the development of technical reports and other modes of communication of technical work.
• Occasionally work independently to learn about various classes of military systems to support model development.
