Job summary

Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. in Sugar Land, Texas is seeking an entry-level MOCVD Engineer to support operation and optimization of MOCVD equipment used for growth of compound semiconductors.

You will assist with growth runs, data collection, documentation, and collaboration with manufacturing, process engineering and quality teams to meet production objectives. Qualifications

• 0–2 years of relevant experience in semiconductor manufacturing or labs.
• Recent graduates encouraged to apply with coursework and internships.
• Experience with MOCVD or epitaxial growth is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with operation of MOCVD systems for epitaxial growth.
• Monitor growth runs and collect data.
• Document parameters, results, and records.
• Support quality control, yield monitoring, and data analysis.
• Troubleshoot basic process and equipment issues with guidance.
• Assist maintenance and preventive maintenance of MOCVD equipment.
• Follow SOPs and safety protocols for hazardous materials.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and process optimization.
• Prepare technical reports and maintain documentation.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and process engineering teams.
