Job summary

STERIS is seeking a Mobile Surgical Instrumentation Field Service Technician to service hospitals and labs from a mobile workshop across North Carolina. You’ll be trained on entry-level instrument repair and progress to repair tasks in dynamic environments—truck, lab, and sterile processing areas.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant, hands-on experience (no prior surgical instrument repair required).
• Backgrounds include assembly, small engine repair, electronics repair and testing, carpentry, automotive repair, steril processing.

Responsibilities

• Triage surgical instruments for wear, damage and function on-site.
• Perform basic-to-intermediate repairs using grinding wheels, buffing wheels, soldering equipment and hand/power tools.
• Move between mobile truck, repair lab and hospital sterile areas based on needs.
• Support multiple facilities across the North Carolina territory per service agreements and requests.
