Job summary

AECOM Tishman is seeking an Entry Level MEP/Purchasing Agent based in New York, NY. The role supports the Purchasing Department in procuring subcontractor trade packages across construction disciplines, with a preference for MEP experience or interest.

Under close supervision of the Procurement Manager, you will assist in bid preparation, scope writing, contract administration, and project coordination on large-scale projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management (or similar technical field) is required.
• Strong familiarity with procurement processes and bid management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to coordinate with subcontractors and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and issuing ITBs across trade packages (MEP, general trades).
• Maintain and update subcontractor prequalification lists and bid contact databases.
• Coordinate bid receipt, track responses, and follow up with subcontractors to maximize coverage.
• Support bid leveling by organizing proposals for senior review.
• Assist in drafting scopes of work for individual trade packages under senior guidance.
• Review drawings/specs to identify scope inclusions/exclusions and package boundaries.
• Flag potential scope gaps or overlaps between trade packages for senior review.
• Compile bid packages including scopes, drawings, RFQ forms, and contract exhibits.
• Support execution of subcontract agreements & purchase orders.
• Maintain contract files, bid logs, award tracking logs, and correspondence records.
• Assist in processing subcontractor insurance, bonds, and compliance documentation.
• Track contract status from award through execution and flag outstanding items.
• Attend internal project kickoff and procurement planning meetings.
• Coordinate with project management and estimating teams to align procurement schedules with milestones.
• Assist in preparing procurement status reports for internal distribution.
• Under supervision, purchases supplies and services from vendors at the lowest cost.
• Prepare requests for proposals, analyze quotes, select vendors, schedule deliveries, and follow up on invoices.
