Job summary

Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) is hiring Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) to support clinical laboratory operations, performing specimen processing, testing, QC, instrument troubleshooting, and communication of results. Positions include MLT I & II with prerequisites of an associates degree and ASCP BOC certification; placement is PRN with hourly pay and scheduled 12 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
• Certification as ASCP Board of Certification (BOC) or equivalent.
• Greater than one year of clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample assessment, receiving, accessioning, processing, and testing to support high quality laboratory patient results, as well as supply/stock maintenance activities to support testing activities (60%).
• Performs quality control testing, instrument maintenance, and competency related activities.
• Actively participates in a setting conducive to teaching health care practitioners in Laboratory Services as assigned.
• Completes additional tasks as assigned by the Director, Manager, Coordinator or Team Leader in a timely manner.
