Responsibilities

• Review and abstract clinical documentation for ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding.
• Ensure coding complies with CMS, payer policies, and audit standards.
• Maintain quality and productivity as defined by policies.
• Enter and verify codes in EHR or coding software.
• Assist in reducing claim denials and rejections due to coding issues.
• Collaborate with providers to clarify diagnoses and procedures.
• Participate in coding audits and apply feedback.
• Maintain HIPAA privacy of health records and organizational policies.
• Keep current with coding updates and continuing education for certification.
