We are looking to fill a full-time ENTRY LEVEL Mechanical Engineer position with a manufacturer located in the area of Franklin/Bowling Green, KY.

Salary Range: $70,000 per year. No relocation assistance for entry level candidates.

Must Haves:

  • · BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required to apply. Will not accept Mech. Engr. Technology degree
  • · Must be able to commute or relocate at your own expense.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluate and manage capital and kaizen projects in a time-critical environment.
  2. Provide analysis, evaluation and review of problems regarding automation, advanced methods and equipment, material handling, layout and material flow.
  3. Provide alternative solutions to anticipated or actual technical and/or business related manufacturing problems.
  4. Develop safeguards and improve team member safety through process improvements.
  5. Provide training to production and maintenance team members.
  6. Provide trouble shooting assistance to production and maintenance team members.
  7. Develop new equipment specifications, tooling and other associated requirements.
  8. Design new equipment or redesign existing equipment, and coordinate its fabrication, assembly, installation, and startup as needed.
  9. Provide daily leadership to hourly maintenance personnel.
  10. Maintain all mechanical functions of plant processes.
  11. Actively and aggressively support 6S policies and procedures.
  12. Support the Production Dept. to assure processes, fixtures, inspection gauges, and tooling are designed, manufactured and delivered on time and within budget to meet production demands.
  13. Prepare equipment and/or tooling designs as required to meet production needs.
  14. Collect data from production documents daily or as needed.
  15. Compare collected data to the standards and analyze for improvements.
  16. Compare the collected data to production reports and analyze discrepancies.
  17. Organize and report data weekly/monthly/yearly.
  18. Measure OEE (Operating Equipment Efficiency) as required.
  19. Identify and quantify opportunities for improvements.
  20. Recommend and implement improvements.
  21. Respond to emergency failures as needed.
  22. Actively support 6S policies and practices.
  23. Support new equipment installations as required and develop spare parts lists.
  24. Coordinate forklift and company vehicle maintenance.
  25. Support the Maintenance Dept. and Supervisor to assure the maintenance systems are being followed properly.
  26. Develop new and/or improve maintenance systems.
  27. Assist with budget preparations for production and maintenance by identifying equipment and tooling needs and developing cost estimates.
  28. Collect maintenance related data from the documents daily.
  29. 3D modeling experience (Solidworks) Preferred.
  30. Design tooling and verify line startup for new part numbers and capabilities.
  31. Communicate with sales and product design team.
  32. Develop new products from initial quoting through production lifespan.

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

  • · B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • · Thorough knowledge of machine design, Solidworks, tooling, machine installation & developing PFEMA.
  • · Microsoft office skills.
  • · Training or working knowledge of statistical analysis processes.
  • · Ability to interpret data and engineering drawings.
  • · Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
  • · Must have good verbal and written communication and team building skills.
  • · Must have strong problem solving skills.
  • · Strong work ethic.
  • · TPS, TPM, 5S, Autonomous Maintenance, Root Cause Analysis, Cost justification analysis, SolidWorks, Continuous improvement techniques, Pokayoke.
