Job summary

Coffman Engineers’ Anchorage office is seeking an energetic, self-motivated entry level to early career Mechanical Engineer to join our team focused on HVAC and building systems design.

You will work with experienced engineers on planning and design of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems, gaining hands-on experience with equipment selection, specifications, load calculations, and construction documents in a consulting engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a mechanical emphasis from an ABET‑accredited program.
• 0–3 years engineering experience.
• Strong interest in HVAC, plumbing, and building mechanical systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both collaboratively and independently.
• Ability to begin employment in Q1 2027.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Gain hands-on experience with system design, equipment selection, specifications, load calculations, and construction documents.
• Develop a foundation in consulting engineering while contributing to meaningful projects.
