Job summary

HED is seeking a Mechanical Designer - Healthcare in a hybrid environment to support the design team with foundational mechanical design tasks. You will learn system design, project documentation, and coordination under lead engineers, focusing on Revit-based modeling and accuracy.

The role emphasizes hands-on learning, collaboration, and developing skills across HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection disciplines within healthcare projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent required.
• Written and verbal communication skills commensurate with the position.
• Strong organizational skills preferred.
• Revit experience preferred.
• Experience with computers for word processing, spreadsheets, and email required.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, flexible and curious personalities required.
• Ability to work well with others under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Model components and systems in Revit for HVAC, plumbing and/or fire protection based on project guidance.
• Set up projects in Revit for mechanical models.
• Design and coordinate mechanical equipment within rooms/plans.
• Collaborate with lead engineers and attend client meetings to understand requirements.
• Complete system sizing calculations under guidance of project designer/lead.
• Check graphics for issues before deliverables.
• Participate in QAQC per design process.
• Estimate time for assigned tasks and assist staffing.
