Job summary

PTR-Precision Technologies, Inc. in Enfield, CT is seeking an Entry Level Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Engineering Team.

You will contribute to designing and detailing parts and subassemblies in SolidWorks, creating layouts and BOMs, and supporting the build process. Candidates should have an associate degree with SolidWorks certification or a bachelor’s in mechanical/manufacturing engineering, and solid troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• SolidWorks experience and certification or coursework.
• Degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or design.
• Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft applications.
• Knowledge of weldment and sheet metal drawing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Model machine components and create layout and detail drawings in SolidWorks.
• Select materials and hardware for components.
• Review concepts for interference and cost-saving opportunities.
• Interface with supervisors, senior designers, electrical engineering and sales.
• Collaborate with shop personnel to resolve design/build issues.
