Job summary

GHT Limited, a leading MEP engineering firm in the DC Metro area, seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer with up to 4 years of experience to join its Arlington team. The role offers hybrid work after initial training, opportunities for career growth, and exposure to building energy codes.

The candidate should have a BS in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited), be pursuing FE/EIT, and show proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited college or university (or evaluated as equivalent) with up to 4 years of mechanical design experience.
• Pursuing or taking FE exam to become an EIT, with PE goal.
• Interest or experience in mechanical design for built environment projects.
• Willingness to learn and exposure to building, energy, and green codes.
• Interest in joining professional associations.
• Ability to work independently and in a team with training.
• Ability to organize workflow and delegate tasks as appropriate.
• Commitment to client satisfaction and responsiveness.
• Exposure to AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software preferred.

Responsibilities

About the Role

GHT is seeking a bright and motivated mechanical design engineer with the knowledge, skills, abilities, credentials, and experience below:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university (or evaluated as equivalent) + up to 4 years of experience in mechanical design.
• Have passed or interested in taking Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam to become an EIT, and eventually a Professional Engineer (PE).
• Demonstrated interest or experience in mechanical design for relevant mechanical design engineering for the built environment in any of our Studios.
• Desire to learn and/or exposure of building, energy, and green codes.
• Interest in joining professional associations.
• Able to work both independently and in a team setting with appropriate training.
• Capable of organizing workflow and delegating tasks to others as appropriate.
• Commitment to client satisfaction and responsiveness.
• Motivated to excel and willing to learn.
• Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
• Exposure to/past experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software is preferred.
• Able to travel to job sites and conduct site visits, including carrying equipment/materials; climbing, sitting, standing, walking, balancing; be exposed to the elements.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship. GHT participates in E-Verify.
• Must successfully complete pre-employment background check and drug test. Certain projects may have additional requirements.
