Job summary

Bowman in Herndon, VA is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our team. You will perform all levels of mechanical design and develop construction documents for projects while coordinating with engineers and clients.

The role requires knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit, field condition documentation, and cost estimating support. Entry-level with a pathway to grow within a collaborative, client-focused practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or architectural engineering required at employment time.
• Entry level position; any professional experience is a plus.
• Knowledgeable of AutoCAD, REVIT, CHVAC/RHVAC, Trane Trace and/or eQuest modeling software.
• EIT and LEED accreditation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems in accordance with current codes and sound engineering principles.
• Produce construction documents and coordinate with engineers, PMs and clients.
• Conduct field observations to document existing conditions.
• Organize tasks to complete designs within hourly budgets.
• Assist in cost estimates for mechanical systems and attend design meetings.
• Review project-related construction admin items (RFI, shop drawings, change orders).
• Ensure compliance with codes and develop knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
