Herc Rentals is seeking a Mechanic C in Seattle, WA to perform preventative maintenance, inspect fleet equipment, and support safe, reliable operation. The role emphasizes learning branch, regional, and national SOPs, with a path toward higher mechanic levels.

You will follow maintenance schedules, service diesel systems, and collaborate with a supervisor to ensure machines meet safety and performance standards. This entry-level role offers hands-on growth within a large North American network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ownership of a sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools to complete most repairs and services.
• Ability to drive and operate multiple types of vehicles and equipment.
• Some knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems; willingness to learn how to read schematics.

Responsibilities

• Follow preventative maintenance schedules on all Herc-owned fleet at the branch.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication.
• Inspect and replace oil and fuel filters per OEM recommendations.
• Monitor oil condition and coolant levels; inspect hoses and belts.
• Operate and test equipment to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
• Enter work orders and produce detailed service reports via the fleet management system.
