Job summary

SA Recycling in Los Angeles is seeking a dedicated Laborer to unload pallets, handle materials, and support yard operations in a busy scrap metal environment.

You will follow safety protocols, pass a medical exam and background check, and may need bilingual English/Spanish. This role requires willingness to learn sorting, PPE usage, and basic math for daily tasks. On-site, physically demanding work with team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Must pass a medical physical and drug test.
• Must pass a background check.
• Grandfathered employees in position as of April 2014.
• Bilingual (English & Spanish) a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively and perform basic math as required.
• Willingness to learn sorting metal and proper PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Unload pallets, boxes, and bundles.
• Handle and sort materials; push, pull, lift, carry, and fill hoppers/boxes/conveyors.
• Unpack boxes and separate plastics and packaging materials.
• Disassemble small equipment and remove bolts from parts.
• Operate or assist with recycling equipment and yard machinery.
• Direct yard traffic and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Perform light maintenance and assist machinery repair as needed.
• Maintain housekeeping and organize materials for space efficiency.
• Attend work regularly and punctually.
