Job summary

Chesterton is hiring a Maintenance Specialist I to join our on-site manufacturing team. You will perform routine maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs on plant equipment and facilities, using a range of tools and trade skills.

The role emphasizes regular attendance, safety, and teamwork, with opportunities to work across mechanical, electrical, and carpentry tasks and to learn in a long-standing industrial environment.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• High School/Trade School or equivalence in experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic electrical, mechanical, metal fabrication, carpentry or related work using hand/power tools.
• Inspect and repair facilities, machinery, and equipment; report to supervisor.
• Assist licensed trades as needed (plumbers, electricians, etc.).
• Construct or modify office/workspace areas; maintain facility interiors/exteriors.
• Mock snow removal and general groundskeeping duties as required.
• Record entries in the CMM work order system.
• Be available for on-call hours as needed.
