Entry-Level Maintenance Technician – Stenz

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Position Summary
Stenz is a family‑owned commercial real estate and construction company with a portfolio of properties across the Indianapolis area. We take pride in well‑maintained buildings and exceptional tenant experiences. We are looking for a motivated, hands‑on entry‑level Maintenance Technician to join our team and support day‑to‑day facilities operations across our commercial properties.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their maintenance career to build skills, gain experience across a diverse property portfolio, and grow with a company that values hard work and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks including HVAC filter changes, lighting inspections, and minor plumbing upkeep
  • Respond to tenant work orders in a timely manner and communicate status updates clearly
  • Conduct regular property walkthroughs to identify and report maintenance issues
  • Assist with repairs to doors, hardware, drywall, flooring, and general building systems
  • Support seasonal preparation tasks such as HVAC startup/shutdown, and exterior upkeep
  • Coordinate with and assist vendors and contractors during scheduled service visits
  • Ensure all work areas are left clean, safe, and compliant with building standards
  • Document completed work orders and maintenance activities accurately
  • Support facilities projects as assigned by the Chief Engineer

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Basic knowledge of general maintenance, repair, and hand/power tools
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
  • Positive, team‑oriented attitude and professional demeanor with tenants and colleagues

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including climbing ladders and working in varying weather conditions
  • Stand, walk, and be on your feet for the majority of the workday
  • Climb ladders and stairs regularly; work at heights up to 20 feet
  • Bend, kneel, crouch, and work in confined or tight spaces as needed
  • Reach overhead and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity
