Job summary

FlightSafety International is seeking an entry-level machinist-in-training to support machining operations in a manufacturing environment. The role focuses on learning basic machine setup, operating CNC and manual machines, and inspecting finished parts for conformance to specs.

You will read blueprints, measure parts with precision tools, and follow safety and quality procedures while contributing to production goals.

Qualifications

HS Diploma/GED.
One (1) year of experience in industrial technology (can include school experience).

Responsibilities

Set up and tear down CNC machines and manual machines.
Read and interpret CNC codes.
Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
Remove and replace dull cutting tools.
Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and work pieces on machines, using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
Adjust machine feed and speed, change cutting tools, or adjust machine controls when automatic programming is faulty or if machine malfunction.
Lift work pieces to machines manually.
Calculate machine speed and feed ratios.
