Responsibilities & Expectations:

We are seeking an Entry-Level Machinist Assistant to join our team. As a team member for IPS, you will possess strong attention to detail and a customer-focused approach to assist in the repair of industrial AC/DC electric motors, generators, gearboxes, and related equipment, while supporting our culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities may include:

• Assist with job efficiency by ensuring parts and components are collected for each job before they are machined or assembled
• Maintain the cleanliness of work areas and machinery, including lathes, grinders, and drill presses
• Operate basic hand and power tools
• Be willing to learn on the job to operate conventional manual machining tools, including engine lathes, horizontal lathes, milling machines, grinders, drilling machines, and relatedequipment
• Safely use overhead, gantry cranes, lift trucks, and associated lift rigging
• Adhere to our shop safety policies

Qualifications and Competencies:

• At least 1 year of experience working in an industrial setting or graduation from a vocational / 2-year technical school.
• Ability to perform basic mathfunctions
• Ability to understand, perform, and retain various job-related training, operational, and safetyprocedures
• Self-starter and highly motivated person.
• Work overtime and weekends as required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry items up to 50 lbs.
