Job summary

ATI is seeking an Entry-Level Machining Engineer in Cudahy, WI. You will create design concepts, verify concepts via simulations, build models, and prepare drawings, specifications, and instructions to support manufacturing.

Reporting to a Sr. Engineer, you will develop CAD models, run process simulations, collect data, and communicate results. A BS in engineering or equivalent is required, with strong analytical and communication skills. Travel to other units may be required.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Engineering or equivalent years of experience.
  • Experience in CAD and/or FEM is a plus.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and apply design and manufacturing principles to support machining tasks, estimate machining hours and handle process changes.
  • Utilize CAD systems to make design concepts, sketches, layouts, models, assemblies and NC programs.
  • Test and validate design concepts by performing calculations and process simulations.
  • Collect and analyze process data and evaluate simulation results to make engineering assessments.
  • Investigate problems with manufactured items or processes, attend tryouts, and recommend improvements in methods and tooling for quality and cost improvements.
  • Create documentation and technical reports to communicate solutions.
  • Develop understanding of forging, heat treat, and machining processes and equipment capabilities.
  • Travel to other business units to support manufacturing processes.
