Entry Level Machine Operator 1st Shift -- Abilene, Tx

Are you ready to bring your Machine Operator skills to a team that values precision and innovation? At Martin Sprocket & Gear, we’re dedicated to producing quality mechanical power transmission components, material handling systems, and custom forgings with excellence. We’re looking for skilled Machine Operators like you!

What You’ll Do:

  • Follow production instructions: Follow instructions from process sheets, blueprints, or verbal directions from the supervisor to achieve manufacturing goals.
  • Install machine fixtures: Align and secure dies, punches, blades, or other fixtures to ensure safe machine operation.
  • Operate machinery: Set up and operate lathes, mills, drills, presses, and CNC machines according to specifications.
  • Inspect operations: Monitor machines and inspect finished products using tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure quality standards.
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness: Follow safety protocols, wear PPE, and keep the work area organized and clean.
  • Perform other duties: Assist in other areas or departments as needed.

What You'll Bring:

  • Math skills: Basic math and ability to read and understand instructions in English.
  • Physical capability: Ability to handle heavy items and perform physical tasks.
  • Policy adherence: Punctuality and compliance with company policies.
  • Stamina: Ability to stand for entire shifts in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Machining knowledge: Willingness to learn machining concepts and use measuring devices.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Attention to detail: Maintain high quality standards.
  • Reliability: Dependable and consistent in performance.
  • Flexibility: Adapt to shifting production demands.

Your Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
