Opportunity Group, Inc. in Holland, MI is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer to launch a career in machine design and automation. You will work under senior engineers to design custom machines and fixtures using CAD tools, while contributing to BOMs and bid specifications.

The role offers hands-on mentorship and growth in gears, pumps, hydraulics, piping, robotics, and PLC-based controls within a permanent, full-time position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks is preferred; experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, Pro/E, or other 3D CAD platforms will also be considered.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Design and detail custom machines, fixtures, and automation systems using engineering principles and CAD tools.
• Select and size mechanical components such as gears, pumps, bearings, hydraulics, and piping systems.
• Collaborate with a team of experienced mechanical designers to bring concepts to life.
• Create and review engineering drawings, BOMs, and bid specifications.
• Support continuous improvement and innovation in machine design.
