Job summary

JE Dunn Construction in Atlanta, GA seeks an entry-level M/E Engineer 1 to support mechanical, electrical and field construction activities. You will collect and assemble data and learn to develop estimates while assisting with bid analysis to help wins on projects.

This role emphasizes safety, quality and collaboration, with exposure to design documents, budget development, sequencing, shop drawings and commissioning processes on diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, architectural engineering or related field.
• 0–2 years construction experience and/or internship/co-op preferred.
• Ability to read plans and understand specifications; basic estimating knowledge.
• Proficiency in MS Office and strong team communication.

Responsibilities

• Learns and actively participates in safety and quality plans and culture.
• Completes entry level and routine mechanical, electrical and field construction activities.
• Learns to develop budgetary M/E estimates using automated estimating system.
• Assists in reviewing mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction and conducts systems analysis.
• Learns to develop M/E scopes of work for bid coordination.
• Assists in bid analysis and subcontractor selection input.
• Helps develop sequencing requirements and scheduling solutions.
• Gains knowledge of design documents to identify quality issues and prepare constructability reviews.
• Performs job inspections to ensure specs are met; assists with shop drawings and submittals.
• Assists with commissioning, including checklists and functional testing.
