Job summary

Ascend Staffing is seeking an Entry Level Lumber Yard Associate in Washington. The role involves assisting customers, recommending lumber/hardware products, measuring and cutting wood, processing sales and returns, and keeping the yard organized and safe.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs, work indoors/outdoors, and pass drug/background checks. Expect a daytime shift with weekend availability and on-site duties at the Chehalis/ Olympia location.

Qualifications

• Lumber or hardware experience required.
• Customer service experience required.
• Ability to use a tape measure accurately.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must be able to stand for long hours.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Must pass drug screening and background screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in person and by phone.
• Recommend lumber and hardware products.
• Measure and cut wood accurately (tape measure required).
• Process sales, returns, and refunds.
• Support yard operations and inventory organization.
• Stack and handle lumber materials.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas.
• Follow all safety procedures and team goals.
• Help keep store trip/hazard free.
• Do daily cleaning tasks.
