Job summary

The City of Longview’s Parks and Recreation Department seeks an entry-level Lifeguard to supervise swimmers, enforce pool rules, and maintain safety in municipal facilities. You will respond to emergencies, provide first aid and CPR as needed, and assist with daily pool operations and cleaning.

No prior experience is required. Lifeguard Training and First Aid/CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer from the American Red Cross are required, along with a valid Texas Driver's License.

Qualifications

• No experience is required for this entry-level position.
• Certification in Lifeguard Training, First Aid, and CPR/AED is required.
• Must hold a valid Texas Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Lifeguard and supervise swimmers, ensuring safety.
• Identify unsafe swimming practices and enforce rules.
• Respond to emergencies and provide First Aid/CPR as needed.
• Prepare and submit accident and incident reports.
• Assist in cleaning and maintaining pool facilities.
• Document and perform chemical testing.
• Open and close pool area; support other staff as required.
