Job summary

Lawn Matters is hiring a Plant Health Care Technician I, Lawn Care, in Ohio. This entry-level role provides on-the-job training to apply fertilizers, weed control products, and turf treatments on residential and commercial properties, under supervision.

You will learn turf health, safety protocols, and customer service while developing skills for advancement. The position requires outdoor work, accuracy in product application, and good teamwork. Early start times and varying weather are expected.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: No prior lawn care experience required; training provided.
• Licensing/Certification: Valid state driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and other lawn care products safely and precisely, following label instructions and safety protocols.
• Assist in diagnosing and resolving basic lawn problems, including pest, weed, and nutrient issues, with written/verbal recommendations.
• Engage customers and pursue new contracts or re-enrollment of existing customers through proactive service and communication.
