Job summary

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is seeking a Laboratory Assistant I to support its La Verne laboratory operations. This entry‑level role provides hands‑on experience in sample preparation, receiving, and basic testing to help ensure accurate results.

You will clean glassware, prepare solutions, enter sample information into the LIMS, and assist with routine equipment maintenance. Schedule: 44/36, Mon–Fri, with every other Friday off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or HSEC.
• Basic mathematics and familiarity with office technologies.

Responsibilities

• Clean glassware and labware; prepare, sterilize and decontaminate materials.
• Prepare laboratory solutions and reagents.
• Assist with sample receiving and tracking in LIMS.
• Maintain equipment and supplies; assist with QA/QC activities.
