Job summary

Savannah River National Laboratory is seeking an entry level Laboratory Technician to perform laboratory testing, sample preparation, and analytical support under supervision. This role supports the Nuclear Stockpile Stewardship mission at SRNL and requires DOE security clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities include metallographic work, setup and cleanup, sample preparation, microscopy, and compliance with safety procedures in a radiological environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• ACT WorkKeys scores within the last five years: Workplace Observation 2, Applied Math 3, Graphic Literacy 3, Workplace Documents 4.
• Ability to secure and maintain a DOE security clearance (Q level) and U.S. citizenship.
• Test scores must be uploaded at application submission or by posting close.

Responsibilities

• Learn metallographic techniques and support tasks under clearly defined SOPs.
• Set up/clean up, stock supplies, perform leak and integrity tests, section components, prepare samples for analysis.
• Operate in a lab with hoods and gloveboxes; work in a radioactive environment with protective gear.
• Other duties may be assigned by supervision.
