Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. The role involves receiving and sorting clinical lab specimens, preparing specimens for testing, data entry of patient information, and maintaining equipment to ensure safety and quality standards.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and offers standard daytime hours with overtime as needed. Preference is given to candidates with Labcorp experience and healthcare/clinical laboratory exposure.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Preferred Qualifications: Current or prior Labcorp experience; One year or more of experience in the healthcare industry (physician's office, clinic or hospital); One year or more in an assembly or manufacturing production environment; One year of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory environment.

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team in Phoenix, AZ.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Overtime required based on business needs.

Job Responsibilities:

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested

• Comfortability with handling biological specimens
• Able to accurately identify specimens
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Able to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Able to work overtime as needed
