Job summary

Pace® Analytical Services is seeking a Lab Assistant to support our environmental testing laboratory. You will help with routine lab operations, stocking supplies, and maintaining organized work areas while ensuring GLP-compliant practices.

You will gain training to grow a career in laboratory sciences and contribute to meaningful environmental work. The role emphasizes teamwork, accuracy, and adherence to safety procedures in a dynamic lab setting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Related laboratory, warehouse, or material handling experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to maintain records, forms, and documentation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and stock laboratory supplies, tools, and related materials.
  • Clean laboratory glassware according to GLP methods and maintain organized wash and storage areas.
  • Pick up, transport, and deliver glassware, samples, documents, materials, and other items as needed.
  • Assist with reviewing, completing, and processing documents, databases, and records related to sample handling and delivery.
  • Support compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and laboratory procedures.
  • Contribute to departmental efficiency by offering suggestions and participating as an active team member.
  • Promote a positive work environment through professional, courteous, and cooperative interactions.
  • Assist with general laboratory operations to support scientists and laboratory staff.

The salary for this position reflects a variety of factors. What You’ll Do

What You’ll Bring

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or move up to 50 pounds and frequently handle up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the workday.
  • Ability to read printed materials and computer screens and communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
Work Environment
  • Work may be performed in a laboratory, office, or field environment.
  • May involve travel between locations as needed.
  • Exposure to laboratory chemicals, fumes, gases, odors, weather conditions, and other environmental factors may occur.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and required when applicable.
