Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; work experience cannot substitute education.
• Entry-level role with on-the-job training in animal care and facility operations.
• Commitment to safety and regulatory procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily husbandry care for laboratory animals, including feeding, watering, monitoring health status, and maintaining appropriate environmental conditions.
• Clean, sanitize, and maintain animal housing areas, cages, equipment, and facility spaces according to safety and regulatory requirements.
• Observe animal health and behavior, identify abnormalities, and report concerns to supervisory or veterinary personnel.
• Record animal care activities and health observations accurately and timely.
• Operate and maintain cage washers, autoclaves, and other animal care equipment.
• Complete required training and follow institutional, regulatory, and animal welfare protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
