Job summary

The Bristal Assisted Living is seeking a responsible Kitchen Utility Worker/Dishwasher to support our busy kitchen team within a luxury assisted living community. The role involves cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining equipment, while upholding safety standards and efficient service.

The position offers full-time hours, includes weekend shifts, and provides an entry point for a career in food services within a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

Experience in a busy kitchen or food preparation area.
Able to operate in a fast-paced environment.
Physical ability for strenuous cleaning and lifting.
Ability to understand English and follow instructions.
Comply with sanitation standards and safety rules.

Responsibilities

Cleaning, prepping and washing dishware, silverware, glassware, pots and pans.
Ensuring chemical dispensers are working and cleaning supplies are adequate.
Sweeping and mopping floors as directed.
Emptying and cleaning garbage from kitchen to dumpster.
Assisting with heavy lifting.
Daily cleaning of steam kettle, grill, range tops, brazier, stainless steel surfaces, dish racks, dish storage areas, dishwasher and dishwashing area.
Monthly cleaning of all kitchen surfaces, including walls, ceilings, stairs, tables, table legs and appliances.
Assisting in the dining room, removing soiled dishes during meal service and returning them to the kitchen.
