Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Houston, TX is seeking an entry-level ITS and Traffic Engineer to join our ITS/Traffic Team. You will design and develop plans and drawings for ITS/Traffic, including traffic signals, highway illumination, signing and pavement markings, and related studies.

You will also conduct investigations, prepare man-hour and material estimates, review construction shop drawings, and support permit applications.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of professional experience in a related technical field.
• Completion of Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university.
• Basic computer skills to enter data into spreadsheets or databases.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with OpenRoads Designer or MicroStation (preferred).
• Proficient interpersonal and communications skills.
• Capability to develop technical writings and reports.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop plans and drawings including ITS/Traffic design and studies.
• Organize and conduct engineering investigations with well-defined scope.
• Provide engineering services during construction by reviewing shop drawings and observing procedures.
• Prepare preliminary man-hour, cost and material quantity estimates.
• Participate in quality control checks and review designs and drawings.
