Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an entry-level ITS/Traffic Engineer to join our ITS/Traffic Team in Houston, TX. The role involves designing ITS/Traffic plans, including signals and highway illumination, with supervised construction review and reporting responsibilities.

The ideal candidate has 0–2 years of related experience and a BA/BEng in Civil or Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited). Proficiency in MS Office and strong communication skills are required, with OpenRoads Designer or MicroStation

Qualifications

0–2 years of professional experience in a related technical field.
ABET-accredited Civil or Electrical Engineering degree is required.
OpenRoads Designer or MicroStation experience preferred.
Proficient interpersonal and communications skills; ability to develop technical writings and reports.

Responsibilities

Design and develop plans and drawings for ITS/Traffic, including signals, illumination, signing and pavement markings.
Organize and conduct engineering investigations and planning work with well-defined scope.
Review shop drawings during construction and prepare progress reports.
Develop preliminary man-hour, cost and material quantity estimates.
Participate in quality control checks and review designs and drawings for accuracy.
