Job summary

Sprout in Garland, TX is seeking an IT Hardware Technician to evaluate, test, and de-manufacture electronic equipment while maintaining inventory accuracy and data-handling compliance.

You will work with CPUs, GPUs, memory and storage, perform data erasure per standards, manage records with scanners, and help ensure safety and quality in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Overtime and weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of professional ITAD or electronics recycling experience.
• Familiarity with testing tools and diagnostic software for electronic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Sort and evaluate electronic equipment (CPUs, GPUs, RAM, HDDs/SSDs, mobile devices).
• Maintain accurate records of materials using scan guns and manual entry.
• Conduct thorough testing of electronic components and sub-assemblies.
• Perform data erasure following standardized protocols with zero data escapes.
• Disassemble equipment into components per industry guidelines.
• Ensure precise inventory tracking within the workspace.
• Maintain a clean, hazard-free working environment and follow health and safety protocols.
• Coordinate with team members for smooth workflow transitions.
