Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Shepherd, Texas is seeking an entry-level worker to support skilled craftspeople on construction projects. You will learn to read blueprints, assist with fabricating metal parts, and help hoist and position structural steel components under supervision.

The role requires physical work on construction sites, ability to follow instructions, and commitment to safety. Training will cover use of hand and power tools and alignment techniques in varying weather

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required or related experience.
Ability to read specifications/blueprints and determine material requirements.
Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

Read specifications or blueprints to determine material locations, quantities, or sizes.
Assist skilled craftsman in fabricating metal parts according to blueprints.
Assist with unloading and positioning prefabricated steel units for hoisting and guiding equipment operators.
Verify alignment of structural steel members using plumb bobs, lasers, transits, or levels.
Cut, bend, or weld steel pieces using shears, torches, or welding equipment.
Assemble hoisting equipment or riggings to move heavy equipment.
Observe safety and project rules and perform other duties as required.
