Gilder Search Group is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Technician for a 2nd-shift role in Sycamore, IL. The position focuses on preventive maintenance, basic mechanical and electrical repairs, and learning the plant’s equipment alongside senior techs.

Ideal candidates have hands-on aptitude, 1–3 years experience in related fields, and a willingness to learn CMMS. The role offers strong progression and a stable path within a heavy-manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of hands-on maintenance experience in manufacturing, shop, automotive, or mechanical service.
• Basic familiarity with electrical systems; 3-phase power a plus but learnable on the job.
• 1-3 years using hand tools and basic power tools; basic welding exposure a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on plant machinery to keep production running.
• Inspect equipment and report mechanical or electrical issues before they cause breakdowns.
• Assist senior technicians with mechanical and basic electrical repairs on heavy machinery.
• Support new-equipment installs by pulling wire, setting lines, and basic conduit.
• Learn to isolate faults using a digital multimeter and standard diagnostic tools.
• Log work in CMMS and operate forklifts and overhead cranes safely.
