Job summary

Polycor Indiana Limestone seeks an Entry Level Maintenance Technician for Empire Mill in Oolitic, Indiana. You will perform routine maintenance, assist with troubleshooting, and help keep production equipment running safely and reliably.

This developmental role offers hands-on training in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, with a focus on safety, preventive maintenance, and accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Mechanical aptitude and interest in industrial maintenance required.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Technical school, vocational training, apprenticeship experience, or relevant certifications are a plus but not required.
• Ability to learn mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting.
• Ability to work the assigned schedule and overtime as business needs require.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment and facility systems.
• Assist with troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical equipment issues.
• Complete assigned preventive maintenance and equipment inspections.
• Respond to equipment issues and assist experienced maintenance employees with repairs and troubleshooting.
• Identify and communicate equipment concerns that could affect safety, quality, or production.
• Replace and repair components such as bearings, belts, chains, motors, pumps, and other mechanical parts.
• Assist with equipment installation, fabrication, welding, and plant improvement projects.
• Read and follow equipment manuals, work instructions, and basic mechanical drawings.
• Complete work orders and maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
• Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and required PPE.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
• Participate in training and develop skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other industrial maintenance systems.
• Support plant shutdowns, equipment installations, and other maintenance activities as needed.
