Job summary

S&ME is seeking an Entry-Level Industrial Hygienist to join our Environmental team in Charlotte, North Carolina. You will support projects from field assessment through reporting, gaining practical IH consulting experience while learning from CIHs.

You will perform on-site hazard assessments for asbestos, lead-based paint, and indoor air quality, and help prepare clear, actionable reports for clients. This role offers hands-on growth in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 0–2 years of industrial hygiene field sampling experience preferred.
• Active industry-related certifications such as NC certified Asbestos Inspector or Air Sampler/Monitor accreditation are a plus.
• Strong business and technical writing skills are expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform Hazardous Material Evaluations: asbestos, lead-based paint, indoor air quality sampling per established protocols.
• Produce high-quality reports for small to mid-sized projects; collaborate with senior reviewers.
• Support project scopes, proposals, cost estimation, and client engagement to win work.
• Assist in business development by representing the firm in local industry groups and client meetings.
