Job summary

Alta Environmental & Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Industrial Hygienist to join our Environmental, Health & Safety team. You will lead occupational health efforts, conduct exposure assessments, and help clients comply with federal, state, and local regulations.

The role combines office and field work with travel to industrial, commercial, and manufacturing facilities. Strong communication, project management, and client service skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 2-10 years of experience in an Industrial Hygiene role is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene or related technical field is required.
• Preferred: CIH certification (BGC/ABIH) but not required; candidate should be on path to IH certification.
• Ability and flexibility to travel domestically; expected travel is 50%.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle access.

Responsibilities

• Support plant leaders on Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomics topics.
• Develop strategies for quantitative workplace assessment including sampling plans.
• Perform chemical air sampling, noise dosimetry, and hazard assessments.
• Conduct IH and Ergonomic risk assessments per industry standards.
• Prescribe control methodologies and develop IH training programs.
• Consult with managers and regulatory officials on findings and remediation.
• Analyze exposure data and injury statistics for trend analysis.
• Provide IH expertise for risk assessments and EH&S audits.
