Oilgear is seeking an entry-level technician to perform basic assembly or test operations on hydraulic components under close supervision.

You will work with complex drawings, set up test stands for pressure and functional testing, and document results while learning both assembly and test disciplines through a structured development plan. Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to cross-train are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Proficient in assembling or testing hydraulic components.
• Ability to read complex drawings and procedures.
• Willing to cross-train in assembly and test.
• Physical ability to meet job demands.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic assembly or test tasks under close supervision while building proficiency.
• Assemble, fit, align, and adjust hydraulic components and final assemblies to meet engineering performance specifications.
• Set up and operate test stand equipment independently for pressure and functional testing.
• Work from complex assembly drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Use precision measuring and gauging instruments to verify tolerances and product quality.
• Diagnose defects and malfunctions and take corrective action or elevate appropriately.
• Accurately document inspection results, test data, and production records in required systems.
• Support inventory accuracy through proper material handling and documentation.
• Identify and recommend improvements to assembly and test methods, tooling, fixtures, and work instructions.
• Actively participate in cross-training to develop skills in both assembly and test.
• Follow all safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
