Job summary

University of Missouri Energy Management seeks a TAB Technician I to perform entry level testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) of HVAC systems on campus. You will collect data, enter TAB forms, and assist with inspections of construction to ensure proper installation for TAB work.

The role emphasizes safety, data accuracy, and adherence to procedures, with opportunities to progress through TAB training and advancement within the department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and related experience required.
• Five years HVAC trade experience and training, including apprenticeship or vocational training.
• Ability to read blueprints, plans, schematics and drawings.
• Skilled in maintenance and use of TAB tools and equipment.
• Must pass a written test and skills assessment for the trade.
• Must follow safety procedures and work safely.
• May require overtime and a valid Missouri driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Collect HVAC equipment nameplate data.
• Enter data into TAB forms.
• Inspect construction to ensure equipment and devices are installed per design for TAB work.
• Notify supervisor of unresolved construction deficiencies.
• Measure air and water, calibrate devices, adjust dampers and valves.
• Safely use, maintain and store TAB tools and equipment.
• Follow safety and maintenance policies.
• Complete training for TAB Technician II.
