Job summary

CAN Community Health is seeking a Program Specialist I to join the Education & Prevention Team in Fort Myers, FL. This entry-level role focuses on HIV/STI testing, health education, and risk reduction counseling in community and clinic settings. It requires HIPAA compliance and documentation in EMR.

The role supports outreach, partnership development, and event planning, including BRTA/FRTA agreements and community-based activities. Hours may include evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required or equivalent.
• 1 year experience in related field preferred.
• Must be able to operate a motor vehicle with valid license and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides HIV/STI/Hepatitis C testing and risk reduction counseling in community-based and clinic settings, including phlebotomy.
• Educates clients on Pre-exposure Prophylaxis and links to the PrEP program.
• Documents testing and services accurately in EMR and reporting systems.
• Fosters partnerships and develops MOAs/UBAs with partners under supervision.
• Represents CAN Community Health at events and conducts outreach in various community settings.
