345 DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION in Muskogee seeks a Highway Construction Inspector I to oversee highway projects, perform materials sampling and testing, and ensure compliance with contract documents.

Responsibilities include inspecting contractor work, documenting progress, coordinating with stakeholders, and maintaining records in the Construction Management System; includes safety reviews and daily reports for project integrity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certification in materials sampling and testing within 12 months of hire.
• Valid driver's license at time of employment.
• Willingness and ability to perform travel as needed.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Performs sampling and field testing of materials used during construction projects, ensuring compliance with ODOT testing guidelines.
• Submits accurate test records and samples to the residency lab.
• Maintains current records in the Construction Management System and updates the system data.
• Inspects contractor’s work to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.
• Communicates with stakeholders, such as businesses and landowners affected by the project.
• Maintains required documentation of project progress, including measurements and diaries.
• Submits progressive estimates and time and diary reports.
• Operates agency-issued vehicles and other equipment safely.
• Conducts safety reviews.
• Resolves contract disputes and interpretation with contractors.
