Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking an entry-level Geotechnical Engineer for our Raleigh or Charlotte, NC locations. You will assist with field investigations, lab testing, and geotechnical analyses under supervision, preparing reports and supporting project teams.

The role requires 0–3 years of geotechnical experience, strong communication, and a willingness to work onsite through field phases. A Bachelor's in Civil Engineering is required; an MS in Geotechnical Engineering and/or EIT are preferred, with

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of geotechnical engineering experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to work onsite during field phases of projects
• Bachelor's in Civil Engineering; MS in Geotechnical Engineering strongly desired; EIT preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Engineers/Managers in field assignments including boring layout, utility clearance, and supervision of drill rigs
• Inspect and oversee grading, earthwork, retaining structures, trenchless installation, and foundation work
• Assist with lab testing and compilation of lab/field results
• Perform geotechnical analyses under supervision (soil/rock classification, slope stability, foundation design, settlement, ground improvement)
• Prepare geotechnical reports and support senior staff in project execution
