Job summary

The City of Fountain Inn is seeking an entry level Gas Utility Worker to install, maintain and repair underground gas services. You will participate in routine maintenance, assist with taps, meters, regulators and related tasks in a field setting.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience; possession of a valid South Carolina driver’s license is required. Growth to Gas Technician II is possible within 6–18 months depending on performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required plus 1 year of related experience.
• Equivalents accepted if they provide required knowledge and abilities.
• Must possess valid SC driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair underground gas utility services.
• Operate and maintain utility vehicles and basic field equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and respond to work orders in the field.
• Assist with installation of gas mains and service lines.
